Going out tomorrow?

I'm thinking about hitting the Carlsbad kelp tomorrow. If anyones around to join, you'd be more then welcome! Not sure if I'll brave the beach launch, jetty, or sneak through the lagoon. Any suggestions?

it almost has to be beach. good luck getting your yak across the street to launch in the lagoon and it can get pretty hairy in between the two jetties. and its not very deep and usually has a good current.

a jetty launch?

just north of the inlet (literally right next to the rocks) is usually pretty mellow. ive seen days wehre its a 6" break and i think the highes was like 2ft.

Yeah, I meant next to the jetty, not off of it. I'm not carrying my heavy ass boat across that.

There is a spot at the back of the lagoon to launch "passive" vessels, but you need a permit, and to break the rules to get through to the channel. I assumed that would be a smooth ride, but thanks for the heads up!
