just registered on BWE a few minutes ago. i will be fishing CDM tmr (launching out of M street dock, newport) will be at the kelp/boilers at about 6:30am. i'll be in the white OK scrambler.

Amish I didn't hit the kelp went out on other side of harbor spent some time in harbor in morning trying to drift for hali out going tide was ripping no love on the hali went out on wedge side to hit the jetty no love there only bait all morning might hit the kelp tommorow either that or make the drive to lajolla.still want to try the pipe at Dana never been there

Im done fishing newport till it warms up a bit. Its been no love for me for months.

William, I totally get your point. I have to be up that way Monday anyways. Gonna launch a couple hours before sunrise and try for the sandies first.
The pipe is easy to find right now, there's traps all along it. Head out of the harbor at about a 45º angle. When you hit about 45' bear left and and stay in that depth. The pipe will come up about 8' off the bottom. The pipe lines up with the red buoy outside the harbor mouth and the 2 barber poles about a mile out. You won't see the poles though until you're about halfway out. Good luck and bring lots of lead. It can really eat 'em up.
