MBF @ Irvine 12/10/11
MBF @ Irvine Lake: 1) The MBF will start at 6am and end at 1pm 2) Sign-in ends at @ 7:00am 3) Weigh-in will take place at the tackle store 4) Buy-in is $10 5) $$$ goes to the heaviest stringer (trout only) 6) The fish has to be caught from a kayak 7) California DFG and lake rules must be followed * I plan to be at the lake by 5:30am. I'll be at the kayak launch in front of the tackle store to collect money. My cell is (213) 663-5243. Count me in. I seem to not be so good at the saltwater part of kayak fishing but freshwater is something im good at. Time to bust out the ultralight and the 2lbs test spectra and mosquito hooks

You might poke your eye out or accidentally gaff a nice Halibut! We wouldn't want ANY of that. Take the gaff and practice on the Seal Lady in LJ, you'll get good in no time! |

looks like we may have a few guys from up here going to attend this trout extravaganza, does anyone know of a good cheap motel near the lake in case we come out friday night?it's about 2 hrs out from where we are coming from...thx b

looks like the prices are pretty much in stone as this is a private lake, 22.00 a head, no license needed, big deal...but they stock big trout and kitties there, big enough for a sliegh ride on the yak, could turn out to be a big group, hopefully the weather cooperates...

Below is a map of Irvine Lake if you haven't fished it...
You can launch at the boat ramp or the kayak launch closer to the tackle store. There are other kayak launch areas near Trout Islands as well. Bring you kayak cart for either launch just in case. Last edited by roby; 12-05-2011 at 08:17 PM. |
