07/27/11 CDM Troll....

Went out yesterday, forecast was for very light wind and no clouds, perfect. I launch to 10 knot winds and 1-3 foot wind waves.... greatttt. Can I just get a break from the weatherman, I wait a week of working only to launch to this . Anyways, the sun did eventually come out but it was pretty choppy most of the time, not for the weak stomach. Luckily I never get sea sick. I made a few macs and decided to troll a brand new rapala cd 14 I had bought the previous day. Within about 5 minutes of having a mac behind my boat and the rapala some dumbass kids in an inflatable buzz by me at full speed and wrap my rapala.... *snap* well theres 13 bux well spent shit!

Long story short I trolled for about 2 hours with no takers. There was little activity, not much bait and no birds. Have a good week everyone.

oh if you havent gathered i was fishing for a T :P

Bummer about the Rapala. You should give the Pipe in Dana a try. I see them frequently there.

Yes, guessing it is WSW less than a mile to the Barber Poles (which are the end of the pipes). Very sharky out there at times.

You can definitely launch from the harbor. Do a search for Dana Pipe, there's a few threads with directions. Basically, go to the red buoy straight out from the harbor entrance and then go right. The Pipe more or less lines up with the left side barber pole, though you won't see it until you're about halfway there. Like Greg said, it's about a mile out.
