Quick East Cape report

The fish are chewing down here, lots of very big roosters up to 60 pounds, Dorado, Yellowtail, Pargo and even three Marlin. Real bad connection so no pics but will share some when I get home. Two more days of fishing to go. Hope they are chewing at home too.

Follow the link to see a couple of reports from this AWESOME trip. I was one of our best in several years for the big roosters.

A little video of what you don't want to do when landing a big rooster

As I recall the trip you were on was all about the Tuna, this trip there were no tuna around, at least not close. Just insane rooster fishing with a mix of many other fish for variety.

Great Vids Jim.

Imma gonna have to get off my ass and come down there soon. Will need to leave the wife at home... no spa, or swim up bar... Not a bad thing!

Those roosters are deceptively good fighters and all of what fishing is about!

60#?

No deception about it, they are flat out tough. More muscle than a yellow but you don't have to worry about getting wrapped in kelp. Generally in shallower water so rather than running down they run out and will have you smoking across the water. Just a great sport fish. Our largest down there was pushing 85 pounds. This thing bottomed out a 60 pound boga like there was no spring in it.

No dates set yet but I assume we will do the trips around the same time next year. Late June and if the interest is there another in October.

Thanks for the updates! I plan on heading back down there next year. Either The Ranch or Punta.
