10-24 SD Bay wide open lil 'but hole
Had to leave one hanging as the second seemed to be better, it was at 24 inches. Kept very busy with 2 rods. Caught a dozen 20-25 inchers with 3 legals and alot of missed fish. Very little by catch, a spottie, sandie and this mutant calico..........WTF? Fished 3PM til 6, around North Island in 30 feet of water. Used all of my $5 scoop of sardines. Funner than the sea lion I hooked on Monday

That calico is working hard to stay undersized! With the missing tail he has a few more years before he becomes legal.

Great photos, as always. Sounds like a lot of action, something La Jolla has been lacking lately. Unless your name is John and the halibut Gods are smiling on you .

I'd like to propose a moratorium on the use of the term " 'but hole".
Nice job Andy. Got to keep Adi from running away with it.

I have seen Calicos with a stump of a tail before but never that bad, It actually looks real healthy other than the lack of a tail.
I also have to agree with Brad on the BH moritorium.
