X-factor Transducer location... is it under the water line

This is the back of an X-factor.

Can Anyone tell me if i put my transducer exactly where that red circle is, would it be under water? My Intentions are to get a small bracket and hang the transducer where that red circle is.

It all depends on how much you weigh. I would make sure it clears the hull so you don't get any wake interference or from chop on windy days. Good idea though.

i agree with inside. plus any waves are going to distort the reading on the screen as the yak bounces from the wave

i would end up tearing it off with it mounted on the back of the kayak loading or beach landing.

The thing i liked about my x factor was i never had to worrry about snagging or rubbing my line on my rudder.

I can not find a good place to mount it inside. The x-factor is all wrinkly inside the hull. I would have to mold something to the shape of the hull and this way it is just much easier i thought.

I always transport my kayaks up side down and store them upside down and i am tired of the the transducter comming off.

I considered mounting mine in the hull at the rear but I didn't like the idea of seeing what I just cruised over as opposed to seeing what I'm about to cruise over.

With a big paddler and bait tank that area is still a little above the waterline. You can tell by looking at x-factor photos in the gallery.

280 plus a large bait tank might be enough, but to be safe probably best to make the mount adjustable and test it in a bay first.
