Limits Reds and Krill
feeding birds and mackerel out there too. The current was absolutely ripping out of the north, it was an upwind, and upcurrent struggle just to get back in to Big Rock. Not much of an issue with the pedal drive though. Saw some other kayakers - way out there - battling the current to get back toward Shores (like 5 miles upcurrent?), just a word of warning if you are fishing tomorrow.

Nice!
What a difference a day makes. I was out yesterday, and granted im not real familiar with the "spots", but I came in empty handed. Out of 5 yaks on the beach, only 1 came back with any reds and they were pretty small. |

Thanks guys, these things are FUN on bass tackle and 3 oz heads.
Well today was a perfect day for ocean kayak fishing, finally, its been rough with all the weekend weather lately. I have been fishing trout at Jennings, for seven limits in a row, like http://sdfish.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=104478 Tomorrow's conditions are looking spectacular again for kayaks, small swell and light winds all morning. I will be launching very early. Here is a rockfishing video I made in November from out here -> http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/blackcloud9/Fishing/Fishing%20Videos/?action=view¤t=RockfishLimitTripB11292010.mp4 And some other rockfish-related posts, from last season: http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ead.php?t=8856 http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ead.php?t=8890 http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ead.php?t=6904

Very nice post Larry. Loved the Bocaccio video. After a couple more Halibut I'll have to go get me some of these.

Nice Larry!!!
Current was strong the whole day, but it was RIPPIN' early yesterday. We were commenting how we've never seen it rolling down so hard. The big boat was drifting almost 2 MPh at one point, no wind.

Nice Reds Larry, I'll have to get back out there with you again. Love that launch spot. Miramar trout fishing has been good too, although I have not gotten out that many times this year.

Tasty Limit Larry!
Ya, they were still very thick out there yesterday. There was so much bait in the water it was unreal. Gross little buggers. Easy RF limit in about an hour, then someone turned off the switch. Current was still ripping. |
