New swell hitting Saturday.

Big swell headed this way for the weekend. Wish I could plant myself at LJ and watch the launches and landings. Supposed to be double overhead on sunday.

I use http://www.surfermag.com/surf-report...sts/forecasts/ and Wetsand.com. If you register with Wetsand, they'll email you the surf forecast a couple times a week. La Jolla shores won't be huge, but it won't be a cake walk either. If you're not comfortable in the surf, you might want to hit a bay this weekend. Me I have to work, so no surfing or fishing for me until monday.

It better not. I'm planning to go out Sat. morning. I just checked magicseaweed - this morning is 4ft - looking at the web-cam, it looks completely do-able. They predict a smaller swell on Sat. than today.
The surfmag site came up blank.

Here's Wetsand's forecast for sat and sun...

Saturday the 22nd should see NW swell build throughout the day. West facing breaks are looking like at head high surf in the early AM, and then a couple feet overhead in the afternoon. Rogue waves are highly likely throughout the day.

Sunday the 23rd is looking like the peak day of this NW'er. Most west facing breaks are looking at sets running 2-3' overhead. Standout west facing breaks are looking at DOH sets.

There has been calls for higher surf on the news also. Although I have been seing it to last through Thursday, there is that chance that things going be going off this weekend. Have fun and be safe to all those heading out.

Saturday morning should be cake, it's the afternoon that'll be more interesting. Sunday should be much more so. I don't know LJ shores will take this swell. Plus, look at the periods, that swell will pack some punch. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Just got off the water at LJ an hour ago. Launched at 4:00 am and took a couple over the bow but as usual, if you keep moving it not a big deal. Coming in was not too bad. Some bigger sneaker sets will toss ya but some pretty good lulls between sets. Tie everything down just in case.

Sat. will be fine, the launch will be small all day.....I'll be launching around 330-4am, landing around 11-12 if anyone wants to tag along. Waters clearing up, warming up, probably still good bait and hopefully with these swells we'll get some favorable currents.

sunday looks like a fun day to surf, drink beer, and eat fish!!!

If tomorrow is anything like what the web-cam has been showing the last hour, then it will be a breeze landing. Of course I just now jinxed it.

The launch should be fine tomorrow. A lete afternoon landing may be a little more dicey.

Was out today from 1pm-530pm and both the launch and landing was super easy. The weather was great the wind picked up in the later part of the afternoon but was not too bad. A lot of bait and caught 1 calico bass.
