Stop little guys from nibbling on bait
As I hit LJ looking for a larger meal (YT, WSB, Hbut), I'm getting half my bait nibbled off by the small guys. Using a full squid, sure I'm bringing up some of the small guys, but really targeting the bigger guys. IS there any trick, or is it just part of the hit and miss of fishing? Sooner or later I'll have something take my whole bait instead of the pesky nibblers? Thanks in advance. Greg |

The best thing about squid is that about every thing eats them. And the bad thing as well. About every thing in our area east squid. And if they can't eat them whole they'll nibble them apart. Just know that a real fish will inhail a squid in about .001 seconds and until then just deal with the naggers. Mike

I look at it this way - if there are a lot of little nibblers then those that eat the little nibblers will be showing up, so patience is the key.

From your earlier thread:
"Did manage to catch 5 of these monster guys:" This is what you should be using as your bait for YT/WSB. Troll one of those greenies behind you and one day your reel will go zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zz

I'm confused, is the "z" sound someone sleeping? I haven't heard that one yet.
Regor, I can't offer any advice, except what everyone hear keeps saying. Get out there and put some lines in the water. The bait choice is up to you! |
