Nice Butt...Did you actually hook the halibut? One time I had one hold on to a small sand bass in the bay all the way to the kayak without having the hook in him. They are frickin mean suckers.

somehow he took a big ringed circle right in his mouth, it was funny I would hook the bait in the head and he would bite the tall then I put it in the tail and he took the head off. must have been a few of them in that spot I think it may be time to use the sling.

Nice. Ive been freediving a couple times this past couple weeks just looking around for lobster awaiting the opener. Each time I've seen atleast one halibut sitting in the sandy patches. Next time I will bring a sling. They are definitely around...
