Fished yesterday afternoon all alone until a beautiful couple shows up and makes my month. Trolled Greenback on a circle hook with straight 40 mono. Three days of trolling with my typical spectra set-up and 30 flouro did not get a hit. 5-6' Flouro leader was enough last year but seems to be an issue this year? Anyone else have similar experience?

28 pound female and 24 male both primed to mate. I had hoped they had their business complete by now but the cool water may have delayed things a bit. Second fish wrapped kelp and took 30 mins to get loose by the time he came up he looked as beat as I was and I thought he might not survive once I pulled the kelp off the line and pulled the hook. double yelloetape.jpg

I like your tails. Better to harvest a fish that is not likely to make it than to feed it to the sealions. Good job.
