White Sea Bass Stones

Can anyone tell me a good way to get the stones? I found this on BD which looks like a somewhat civilized way to do it:

Thanks

have kevin "the kid" show you how, it's brutal.

knife a hole in the side of the head large enough for the stones to fit through, then bang the head against your kayak till they fall out.

Drop your heads off at Hubbs or a tackle store thats participates and they will mail the ottoliths back to you. Doing this allows them to study the fish and, well, keep doing the good things they do...

I got a mini tour at the cbad local and I was very impressed and got to learn a few things as well.

Thanks guys...I am definitely going to turn the head in to Hubbs. I heard that they will likely send me some stones they have laying around and keep my fish's stones... I want my fish's stones .

Stones, in a fishes head? What the heck is that all about? I see people use the stones for making jewelry and such.

I don't know how to exactly tell, but when I talked to them they said they would send the stones from your fish. I got mine, took a couple weeks though.

Just do it yourself.. Once you figure out how to take one set out the rest is a breeze.
