sonar whats more import?

im thinking of getting a humminbird 718 http://store.humminbird.com/products/271323/718
or 570 http://store.humminbird.com/products/313973/570

718 has more RMS watts and 570 has more vertical pixels what do you feel is more important fishing off LJ

if you have a suggestion on a different model/make under $200 please let me know

thanks

Recently picked up a Lowrance Mark 5X. Pretty nice unit for the price ($160). Fully waterproof, large screen, high resolution, 16-grey scale. Just came out this Spring...

that looks like a nice FF (added to list) but im clueless if wattage or screen pixels are more important??

also is DIN style plugs or Quick disconnect mounts the preferred connection to the head unit??

looks good

I am new to using FF in a kayak. Took my new 718 out for the first time, man I had fun with it. Besides the sensitivity adjutments (obvious) I had fun watching the setting changes in the different "view" modes I could very easily see the 4X jigs, a hook with a sardine was a little less defined but can be easily seen. I did see the school of squid (pulled up a couple) show up very dark, much darker than the macs. I mounted my transducer in goop, and am PRETTY SURE I did not do a great job.

Please share any info/ settings, learnings about your FF.

I have had the 718 for a year and a half now with no real trouble,
gooped transducer in the hull of the Outback no trouble, except every once in a while the temp goes wacky but I believe it was a corroded pin which I have taken care of.
I am going to add the gps to it soon, its ordered so I would like to know if any of you have added this and do you have any insight or tips ....
You will like the 718 is alot of meter for the money...see ya
