5/24 AM

Greenies at pier, baits in at 4:30 at the point fished from 70-100ft for nada. Water 64 Vis ~10ft, little to no current. spanish EVERYWHERE, nothing pushin them around, at least what i saw and heard on the radio.

Had a look at the kelp right off of Boomers, and most of the stringers had a nice 3-4 ft healthy new growth, that was a bit of comfort....

Obviously a beautiful and very sunny day out there. 8)

Thanks for the report, I may try the PM session tonight if the wind doesn't pick up too much. Next time I see you on the water I'll tell you about my surf trip last month to Nica, we spoke about Morro Negrito last time I saw you out there. Dave

must have missed you Dan!
fished with my buddy Skipp from grey till about 845am for nada

lots of bait puddling.. had a mix of spanish, greenies, giant smelt, and sardines.. raining bait that looked like anchovies too..
it's only a matter of time with this warm sunny weather!!

got buzzed by the Sea Watch, for i'm assuming slow trolling by them on the anchor, and i was well, well outside of the courtesy zone too! it was so stupid that you could only laugh and give him the bird for his efforts..
i'd like to choke that Capt. and make him tap...

but the truth is the big boat wake could flip a newbie yaker no problem..

Seawatch

I went on the Seawatch last year on a 3/4 day to the Coronado Islands. they caught three yellowtail and allot of rock fish that day. What pissed me off was when the skipper saw the yellows he would tell his deck hands who were in the pilot house and they would all run down to the front of the boat chucking irons. So in other words " to hell with the paying customers!" Then on the way back home they laid the three yellows on the deck and the other deck hand started scrubbing down the boat with bleach water. Needless to say the tourist sitting next to me said is that bleach water suppose to be going on those yellowtails?
I told him no, that was really sad that the deck hand knew he was doing this and he didn't give a chit. That was the last time I will ever go on the SEAWATCH! You know the skipper with the pointed sideburns and sunglasses.
Now you know why I bought a kayak! 8)
