If you are going to SC Next Weekend...

To everyone going to SC on the Islander next weekend, looks like we should have some great weather. Everyone aboard is going to get a Ballast Point T-Shirt and a Reebs Kelp Assassin. The Calicos have been chewing well and if we are lucky we should get some YT Action.

This Trip is a Benefit for the Rady's Children Hospital. I will have a Keg of Yellowtail for your enjoyment. Be sure to bring some cash to get into the JACKPOT BIG FISH and to also take care of the crew of the Islander. Any extra money you would like to donate for the Children's Hospital can be given to Matt Moyer.

Also, Thank you Brent for Letting Me do Something nice for a Great Cause.

This trip is FULL so let's make sure we all are safe and take care of each other. Don't forget your PFD and your VHF radios if you have them.

CHEERS

I went and poured with Reebs last night. He is hooking everyone on the boat up with a Kelp Assassin. I'm picking up the shirts and beer and Ballast Point tomorrow. Weather looks like it should be insane. Brian and Rik of OEX will both be on the trip putting together some fun side pots. There will also be a tip jar for the beer...not pressure to tip, all the money will go to the Rady's Children Hospital. Lets pray for fish

I'd bring waders, sometimes it gets chilly there, if it is nice and hot, leave them in your stateroom.

The Islander usually has sardines, if you want bait other than sardines, you may want to bring a sabiki rod. If you want to save space, bring a sabiki, make bait with your jig stick, then wrap the sabiki around a piece of pool noodle.

Love the Islander, 3 weeks!

I have a questions about rod reel setups for the trip. I have 1 halibut setup, a yoyo iron, surface iron and 2 sticks for Calico's. 1 for throwing slugs and one for swim baits. Would guys bring one more or another iron setup?

That should be fine.

I'm bringing

1-Yo-Yo Stick
2- Calico set-ups
1-Jig Stick
1-Live Bait Set up

I'm bring my waders because the wind does come up sometimes. They also keep the sun off my legs.

I just got off the phone with Shane, Captain and owner of the Islander. He said that it's suppose to be grease calm. He stoked because we will get to fish the weather side of the Island which doesn't usually get hit that hard. Calico fishing has been going off, be sure to bring duct tape so your thumb doesn't get bloody, bass thumb sucks! He is going to call me tomorrow or the next day to give me the DOPE....Stay tuned

Can you bring some XXL shirts. I'm 6'6" and those XL's don't cut it.
Also I am going to bring a batch of smoked yellowtail and dorado to go with the beer friday evening. Should be enough for everyone.
