Thumbs up DFG Commission meeting 5-5-10 Lobster Regs.

The DFG Commission met yesterday and Asst. Chief Rob Allen introduced the ISOR (initial statement of reasons) and the "New" Lobster Gear Regs. with both Type A (flat/classic) and Type B (conical) nets described with sizes given.
There were no questions from the commission or negative comments from the crowd so it seemed to go through OK.
This was the "notice hearing". The discussion hearing will be on June 24th in the Sacramento area and the Adoption hearing will be in Santa Barbara on August 5th.
If adopted the Reg. will go into effect on April 1, 2011 just after the end of next season. This will give the DFG plenty of time to inform the public of the changes before the 2011-2012 Lobster season.
Things are looking excelent for those of you that like to hoop with your conical nets.
