I put in an order yesterday with Drew up at OEX in Oside for 2 HD go pro's....

When I get them, I'll let you all know. I want to get some footage of fish being caught for a project Im starting.

ya Im trying to get one HD wide (fish eye) and one HD standard although I don't see the HD standard focal length camera on the website any more. I hope they have one left in stock.

I know Eric (Echo467) has one.

Ahh ok.. I though they only had a wide lens HD, and not standard as well. Whats this project your working on? Kayak fishing movie maybe?

when I first started my investigation, they had both a wide and a standard lens in HD. Now I only see HD in wide.

I got this camera called "Flip Video" as a gift.Not as cool as the gopro and not hd just 480 but they make a housing for it and I will see what if anything I can capture on it...

I got the older go pro with a wrist strap I bring out to film my son surfing. Better picture than I thought. The HD one should be killer. I also have the HD flip recorder another excellent picture and your able to frame for frame to get the right still shot. It's not waterproof tho.

my brother just got the HD go pro, it came with a waterproof case. excellent quality picture and very stable. i would advise you to get the larger card it is expensive but worth it for longer videos. here is a link to check out, it's not fishing (dirt bike riding in glamis) and kinda long, but gives you an idea about the camera. hopfully i can steal it from him this summer for some fishing footage.

I have a flip HD as well.. maybe I will just buy a case for it.

Anyway, I use Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing.

Here is another cool thing about the Go Pro HD. You can set the camera to take pictures every two seconds and you can see the quality is pretty good

I've been using the GoPro for a while; mostly for mountain biking and snowboarding. I'll be using it for kayak fishing as well because of the 16:9 HD video. The 4:3 remote camera I've been using still has a better quality image; the data rate of the GoPro is pretty low. It looks good on a computer, but unless you have a blu-ray burner and player, the only way you'll get the HD video on a big screen TV is to play the video directly from the camera.
To edit the GoPro MP4 files on a Mac; Final Cut would be first choice, Quicktime Pro will give you some basic editing features. On a PC; Sony Vegas Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro will work, but you will need to convert the MP4 files into another high quality format for Premiere because the MP4 is not a native Premiere file.
Either way; you will need a fairly beefy computer for full quality editing. Quad core with lots of RAM.
Also; you'll find out that the POV angle is cool at first, but as with any ultra wide angle camera, the shots start to look all the same. Generally speaking; in a 60 minute video, about five minutes of POV footage would be used.

ya, I hear ya. Im hoping to get one standard and one fishy...

Not a bad POV cam for the price. Fine for the internet. Full HD is not as wide as the 4:3 format; you'll need to shadow box footage if you use both formats.
Still photos are 5MP; any $100 point and shoot digicam will give you better stills.
The "rolling shutter" on CMOS cameras will get your attention after a while.

I have a Gates Underwater housing with a Hi8 camera. It's just a anchor out of the water. When I get more comfortable fishing off the kayak I will bring it out and take some underwater fishing shots. The GoPro video looks really good and I love the small size.

Not a bad POV cam for the price.

I like the GoPro for what it is; a $300, low bit rate, fixed lens, HD CMOS camera.
