I am there
You do not even have to ask if I will be there. I will not be in the best shape due to an ongoing problem that baffles the doctors but I will be there I most likely will not be able to speak though so please do not get offended if I do not say much.

Thanks to you all! Feel better soon Jeff. And Josh, no worries, we all need to make a living. You've done more than many. Come on, we need a lot more help. This thing is far from over, and if we cede the field to the other side it can damn well get worse.

Spearos are in. We will see this thing through.
http://spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=100353 Here's a reason why we need to be there on March 3rd. http://spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=100457 Note the voice of experience "The final maps drawn for the central coast were not what most people expected. The DFG commission decided to draw their own maps. May history not repeat itself. Keep up the fight!"

Friends, we need to crank it up. The other side will be there, saying their 3 favorite words: more, More, MORE!!!! Be the counterbalance. Push back.
This thing is far from finished. Wake the hell up and get back in the game. If you think you've won anything with all the hard work that's gone into keeping a sliver of La Jolla, you better think again. We have to seal the deal and keep our level of commitment up to the bitter end. That means hitting the hearings, and if you can't do that, write emails and letters and fire up your friends to continue the battle. |

Typical tactic of theirs though...have it during the week, and at an obscure, out-of-the-way location...on the opening of the Fred Hall show no less...hmmm, coincidence? I will be sending a letter to the DFG today about the upcoming meeting, and will definitely mention all the BS we've had to put up with in this fair and balanced act.

Look at the DFG Commission meeting schedule for CY 2010.
http://www.fgc.ca.gov/meetings/2010/2010mtgs.asp This is the only meeting in SoCal until October. Effectively, this is your only chance to get to a meeting and have your voice heard. Are you going to pass up this opportunity? What is more important than this right now? I understand that there were a lot of meetings last year and maybe you couldn't get to all of them. This is the only meeting that is going to really matter this year. You have to make the effort. Sure, I'd like to be fishing on Wednesday, but some things are more important. GO TO THE MEETING AND LET THEM HEAR YOUR OPINION. MAKE OUR DEMOCRACY WORK.

There's room for more! We haven't held onto anything yet. Hard as it is to make these meetings, please make the effort.
I'm not going to say much more here in public. If you don't know the issues, look for me or one of the other meeting regulars. For La Jolla, our biggest problems remain the proposed expansion of the current reserve all the way up to the pier (half of it anyway), and the new SMCA that would allow bait only north of the pier. At Malibu, its closure of the birthplace of the sport at Pt Dume and its lee, and at Dana Pt, shifted effort from the enormous Laguna SMR aimed squarely at the shoreline. Both of these are absolutely brutal. See you there! Remember, free Fred Hall admission for the first 100 anglers to check in with the Watermans Alliance, and gratis pizza for lunch for all ocean hunters. Mooching posers will not be welcome, so you can be sure the company will be good. |
