Yak bugs 1-12-09
Well....you know how things go. Spyder got hung up at work so I picked up his kid to go hooping. I was going one way or the other and it's always nice to travel in numbers. Especially on the yak at night. We got to our spot and set the hoops just before the sun went down. Then came the seal lions. These dogs were relentless. Played tug a war with them and everything. The sons of bitches seemed to like my hoops very much. We stayed hooping until 8:30. I managed to squeek out 3 keepers (one was a good sized one and the others just barely's) and Nick got one. Nick was slaying the bass and bottom fish while waiting to pull hoops. I don't know which he liked more the fishing or the hooping. There were a few other boats in the area when we left and each and every one of them owe Nick and I a beer for last night. Because when Nick and I left that MFing dog followed us. That furbag followed us from outside point loma to the shelter island pier before it went away. Beautiful night on the water. Calm water and a good tide. The bugs were crawling. Just couldn't get past the Dog. Oh well....it's the 1st entry in the 09 bug card. |
