Mission Bay 02-17-2024
Day started out fairly nice weather wise but eventually the wind kicked things up a notch, but not too bad. Water was a tad muddy, lots of weeds and debris as well. Since my friend needed to use just lures, I figured I'd try that but being a bait guy I went ahead and got some sardines. They were a good size and in fair condition. Started off with Hook Up Baits, migrated to a Warbaits/Big Hammer setup after a bit, no love there. I switched over to live bait and drifted around the bait barge harbor a bit. Managed to land a Halibut, an inch short, but it was a halibut. And that was it, for the whole day. My friend, and his friend, got a whopping one spotty each all day. I think I'll pass on his next pre-fish there.
