Cabrillo halibut fishing

Its been a while since i've seen a cabrillo post, so I hope this info helps some people out. Non-kayak, but very easy to reach with a kayak.

Fished Cabrillo shallow water habitat on 4/17 to test my boat (re-built lower unit). Saw maybe 6 yaks and 3 skiffs spread throughout the zone. Bait was dine/chovie mix about 5-6" cured well. water temp 61-62. Ended up with 11 short halibut (11-21") and 4 sculpin (11-15"). Couldn't find the concentrated bulk of them, and also couldn't find the bigger ones coming in to spawn.

11 shorts is still a pretty busy day.

Nice to know they are biting, thanks for the report.
