No Bonz...

Fished Wednesday...
lots of eel grass and kelp stringers so it was really hard to troll and if you didn't get the kelp or eel grass caught in the jigs it was a big White Sea bag...there was lots of trash all over the areas where the bones had been lately...
I finally got frustrated and gave up...and went Bass fishing. There were some nice big grumpy Sandies on the deeper structure spots that were willing to bite yesterday. I hope my pre-fishing pays off and they still want to bite on Saturday for the Promar/AHI employee and pro-staff tourney...three, 4 or 5 pound Sandies would be a nice bag.

There's only a few days left to catch some rockfish before the season closes...so I caught a quick limit of Reds before the wind picked up and made it hard to stay on the deep spots...Nothing big, just medium size fish with a few doubles on the AHI Squirts and fresh Squid.
Those rockfish may not be exciting to catch......but they are one of the most delicious fish to eat and they freeze so well too!
Last nights dinner was...Steamed whole Reds with slivered green onions and ground fresh ginger...then topped with Hot sesame/shoyu and hot chili oil...!!!
Can't wait to explore some new deeper 450' spots when the season opens again...

Did they change depth restrictions, thought we were limited to 360' max.

They are opening the depth to 450 ft next year. The word is out. I'm looking forward to bigger rockfish and 2 canary but not looking forward to 1 Lingcod.

Wow 450', wouldn't that be something, always nice to get something back. They will have to start kayak mothership trips to the sixty mile bank. The rock fishing would be crazy good out there but don't forget the descending devices to release all those endangered cow cods.
