Custom Reel Clamp Trinidad Avet Torium Updated!

Hello BWE,

I have now finished all the clamps for Trinidad 14-20 Silver Models,Avet SX MX JX LX, Torium 14, Saltist BG 15-40, and Okuma Makaira 15-50 models.I have received very positive feedback on the clamps and have made quite a few of each model. I will be selling the clamp alone with washers for the user to be able to adjust to smaller rod diameters. All clamps were tested on stock hardware provided by the manufacture. I would appreciate any feedback as it is my first time selling these clamps. I plan on making more models and will keep everyone updated. All clamps are $20 and I also offer custom engraving for $10. I will be doing free shipping for those who order 3 or more clamps. Payments will be done via paypal or venmo and are responsible for any associated fees. will be using flat rate envelopes for shipping which is $6.55 also local pickup in Tustin. Please PM me the reel model, quantity, email address, and shipping address if interested in the clamps. Thank you all for the support!

Awesome Ed!

I'm in aerospace manufacturing and totally see a marketplace for more/better/creative clamps and reel seats.

What grade Al are you using?

Great looking work.

I would also suggest making longer clamps that grab more surface area of the rod for jigsticks. I wouldnt think cork puppy has proprietary market on this but something to look into for sure. Most of my rods do not have reel seats if that gives you an idea as to how many more you could sell if you made the longer ones.

Thanks! For now I plan to make clamps more for rods with reel seats but I have some plans and designs for jigsticks without reel seats ergonomics would be my main focus for a clamp like that. Thank you for your input Brandon i appreciate it helps keep me motivated to make new things!

There is more of a market place for this than anything. Deckhand jigsticks are becoming more and more popular in SoCal, especially for guys like me that want to cheaply rebuild classic rods like Calstars and Seekers.

You figure out how to get an SXJ firmly onto a deckhand jigstick and you've got a winner...

Don’t limit your market. Can use that loop to hook a jig or hook, avoiding the need to attach to reel or rod eye.

It’s perfect for all those things! Makes it easy to put hooks and lures through. Just a standard clamp with a little extra for whenever you need it

If you added a symmetrical loop on the other side you could use one for a leash and one for a lure. I haven’t seen one with two loops yet.

I hate when my hooks get caught on the leash.

I was thinking that too but the protruded slot gets in the way of wrapping your hand around comfortably. But always looking to improve the design I’m sure I’ll come up with some new stuff. Especially being a kayaker I know some of the struggles of a kayak lol

Nice! I don't have access to a machine shop but I have access to a high end 3D printer and CAD software so I'm experimenting with some things too.

I'll buy one off you......or trade a popper....or lure...

The one I have doesn't fit.
The holes have to be 2 inches on center.
Its going on a #6 aftco unibutt.
The reel seat is 1 1/2 inches wide
