Dana point 9/22
At the bait barge at around 645. String of 5 or 6 boats + 2 dana wharf boats in line. 3 Guys on the barge hauling ass to load em up and send them on their way. Waited about 15 min for a scoop of really nice 3 to 5 inch sardines. They looked perfect and survived the whole session. Made our way to doheny beach area. I caught a few bass including a spotted bay bass, nice sized leopard shark, 2 short halibut, and smaller grey shark (soup fin maybe). Water was 65, and south wind picked up around 1030 and I split around 11. One of the more productive days catching, not the ideal fish, but catching and being towed around is always fun. Have fun! |

almost like you posted how my morning went last Thursday, the line for bait, the small dines. I caught quite a few pop tart halibut and sandbass and a soupfin. (no Leo) I also caught the first spottie I can remember there or outside of the harbors.
