Launched at 615am water was 78 degrees almost no wind left harbor went straight for the San Juan rocks made bait on the way started trolling a 8 inch mack saw lots of bird activity about a 1/2 mile out went to check it out and found multiple bait balls switched to a butterfly jig but had no hits kept pushing out to around 120ft water and got a tiny halibut and 5 lizard fish around 10am went in to salt creek and got a small barred sand bass followed by a small calico wind had picked up lots of chop so I slowly made my way out of was off the water by 1pm

The tiny halibut you are holding is not a halibut. It’s a Sand dab. Nice report. Nice calico.

I went out on Saturday, to the red bouy off the DP headlands, then drifted back. I made a few small macks on the way out there, so I fly lined one of those. Then I proceeded to throw everything I had, for the next 3 hours, with no luck. I tried some deeper water about 100 yards out side the bouys, with a flat fall. Was casting it out away from me, and then pulling up on the diagonal. With 4 hours down and nothing to show for it I was going to head for home. Last cast I get a bite. Finally, some action. Good little runs, and lots of head shaking. Got it up to e boat and it was a short Leopard @ 26 inches. On a flat fall? I must have landed that lure right on his nose. Anyway, beats working.
