are they finished working on the ramp, the last time I went it was one vehicle at a time and the boat guys were not friendly to a guy with two kayaks on a trailer. I don't know where Kellog beach is so I didn't head over that way.

Papa Dave. Launch from the beach at Shelter Island Yacht basin. Lots of yakers do. Across from police dock.

SD Bay Launch Sites.
The beach just south of this marker is where most launch on Shelter Island. No real parking issues here.
https://goo.gl/maps/Qy5jdHbU8e32 This is the marker for Kellog's Beach which is across form the Harbor Police Guest Dock. There are two hour parking limits here...not sure how often this area gets patrolled though. https://goo.gl/maps/gYcWTP3ohjC2 Last edited by sdyeti; 07-23-2018 at 09:11 PM. Reason: more info |

Definitely.
The spot on Shelter Island next to the launch ramp has parking right there with just a sidewalk between parking and the beach. The only hindrance is a short steep section. Kellog's Beach has a couple of different access spots. It's just a longer haul in general. There's a few steps on the south side and the north side you just go through the vehicle blocking posts and take a hard right. Last edited by sdyeti; 07-24-2018 at 08:37 AM. Reason: better info |

I guess I need to go there with someone that knows the area. It was a mess the last time I was down there so I just left.
