Corvina EXPLORATORY TRIP
by Makobob This would be an exploratory trip for Corvina in the upper Sea of Cortez. Starting north of San Felipe and extending south to Puertocitos. ANYONE interested? Beach camping, kayak fishing the Sea of Cortez North. Looking for Orange Mouth Corvina. Want to join us? We can use YOUR input and knowledge. Corvina over 10# caught on a fly. Fly caught Corvina over 10#s I plan to start prospecting somewhere around ESTERO PREMERO and finish the trip just outside Puertocitos. Estero Premero is a few miles north of El Dorado Ranch. Maybe hit 2-3 spots a day. Traveling by truck from spot to spot. Do you have any spots YOU want to share? So many sandy beaches to choose from. We will take camping and cooking gear. A couple Coleman stoves and a coffee pot. Some pots and pans too. A table or two and a generator. BRING your own CHAIR and ice chest with BLOCK ice. It might not be too hot but bring your sun gear, cover up. There will not be many places to find shade. BRING a hat and maybe an extra, long sleeve shirts will help. You might find yourself wadefishing so think stingray protection. There could be bugs so think about that. Fishing tackle should be light, 10-15 pounds max. Conventional, spinning and fly tackle all will work well, maybe a surf rod for a little extra distance. Plugs, jigs, lures, plastics. Kastmasters, crocodiles, Decievers and Clousers for the fly guys. Sleeping gear, bag, mattress what ever you need, a blanket might not be warm enough. Bring a jacket in case the night temps get too low. This is an exploratory trip and we could find anything. Be prepared. You run out of tackle and there are not many tackle stores close. I know the success rate is usually higher for shore anglers so I might not bring my kayak. But then with the right techniques a yak can cover moore water. And maybe catch just as many Corvina as a shore fisherman. Maybe we will keep a tally and sea what works best. I spell this exploratory trip as FUN. Join us in paradise. Tight Lines amigos. If you want to go please contct me at mako-ville.com Thanks amigos.

Decievers and Clousers are tied on salt water hooks. From 1 to 5 inches in lenght for these fish. We caught 50 pound roosterfish on these flys.
