Thats easy, I use military spec Velcro and it never moves unless I want to remove it.
Even stored upside down the box will stay in place after miles of hwy driving. |

All you need to do is enlist in the Marines and they will give you all the Velcro you need.lol Just kidding.
I would suggest Marshall's Industrial Hardware just off of Miramar Rd. on Production Ave. for all your Heavy Duty Hardware Needs, this place has got it all. Here is the link. http://www.marshallshardware.com/ Tech Tip: Be sure to wipe the area clean with 90% Alcohol before you stick the velcro down. Mine hasn't moved in 2 years, through fishy water and all. |

I think it will stick to rough fiberglass. The glue on the back side of good velcro has some serious stick.
I drilled the hole in the lid, then passed the wire through, then cut a rubber grommet and dressed it into the hole. I added a small dab of marine goop to seal it up. BTW I just took this shot of the box while the yak was hanging upside down from the rafters. The box stays put unless you remove it. |

Home Depot
They also sell the large heavy duty velcro and it maybe easier to get at Home Depot. Just make sure to alcohol the two placements, put on as large of a piece as you can (don't be cheap) and most important point is allow sufficent time for it to cure before trying it out (24 hours).
Good luck. |
