That fish and guy were hauling ass. As fast as he was getting towed, that fish still nearly spooled him. What a thrill!

When I first started doing this, there were a few YouTube videos I saw that made me think "I'd like to give that a try"
Johnny Ceviche has a similar t-shark sleigh ride video from La Jolla. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6E9PSS6Nyvo Now over 10 years later, it's the sleigh rides that keep me coming back. |

Estimate
If you don't see it, it is always twice the weight you truly think it is. In other words, it was maybe 250lbs at best.

Looks like the guy had a jigging outfit. Doesn't matter I suppose. Amazing things can be done from a yak but if the marlin was that big I doubt you could put enough pressure on to ever tire it out. Mike

That setup was to small to catch a malin...
With the right setup he could have layout several hundred yards of line....and the water would add to the tension on the fish alot of drag is not needed and marlin usually jump across the surface wherein there self out....bringin it to color might be possible....gaffing...anythings possible....but being kayak fishermen we get our self in situations where we just hope for the best, I no I have.
