What kind of kayak?
I got a frame made for Hobie for the battery. In my Xfactor, I glued a waterproof container to the hull. |

I used 2" wide commercial velcro. You can find it at Home Depot.
http://m.homedepot.com/p/VELCRO-bran...0199/202261921 That thing is really strong. The adhesive in the back is really strong too and it won't unglue. One morning I flipped 4 times in a row (don't ask) and the battery had not moved. |

Drops in my back hatch -- no screws, no glue, no fasteners. Easy access for recharging.
Looks like this: Also clamps vertical if you want to put it in the front hatch against the mast holder. $18 https://www.amazon.com/Hobie-12V-Bat...battery+holder
