JAL Memorial Tournament, thank you!

From my family to all 70+ attendees of the 2nd Annual James Lebowitz Memorial, THANK YOU! As a community we raised over $4200 for autism related causes and the Cal Poly Pomona scholarship endowment named for James. I can't thank you enough for this precious gift. You're helping us keep our James' memory alive. That is priceless to us.

More thank yous:

To Andy and Brent of the OEX chain of kayaking and fishing shops. You are wonderful friends and a huge asset and supporter of the kayak fishing community. Thank you.

To MO and Ocean Kayak, who have been there since the early days of the traditional La Jolla post-Labor Day tournament. The Trident 15 went to someone who will cherish it, a HOW veteran. Thanks for your generosity.
To Hobie, which generously supported the raffle with so, so many great prizes... Together we're doing great things. Thank you!

To Yanni Hassir of Fisherman's Belly, an amazing chef, and his wife Maria who braved the drive from the Inland Empire to fix us an out of this world ceviche. You both have huge hearts. Thank you.

To Tommy Gomes, who stepped up when we failed to find enough fish in the
community. Who is always there doing good work. We are incredibly grateful for your kind-hearted spirit. Thanks!

To The Kayak Fishing Show with Jim Sammons. Jim captained the tournament support boat, and to Truth Reels, which donated a limited edition Jim Sammons reel. You've done so much to foster our community, including starting this great tradition. And who got me into this best of sports. I could never thank you enough.

And to the Southern California chapter of HOW, which warmly supports the JAL Memorial, and to the others who came out to help with set up and tear down, and who donated raffle prizes out of the kindness of their hearts, THANK YOU.

Is it me, or do I make that fish look skinny? Those long lean ones sure fight like crazy. Had a great time, and the raffle was insane. As slow as it has been there recently, it was nice that some fish came out to play. Caught and released a juvi Thresher in the morning and not another bite till the YT at 11.

More thank yous:

To friend of the community Rich Holland, who came to the weigh-in to report for Kayak Fish. I'm looking forward to seeing his coverage. Kayak Fish also provided dozens of tie-down straps for the raffle. Thank you!

And to Kayak Angler Magazine, for the free digital subscriptions for our anglers. And for the coverage and kind consideration, thank you.
