LJ 13 July
Hit the beach with at 620. No bait in sight. Wind was blowing ever so gentile but would pick up occasionally for a few white caps around 930. Water was nice a clear but clouds looked like they might want to turn into something nasty (they didn't and burned off around 1000). I Chased a few birds for nothing then at 820 finally got a hit. 17 inch Sand Bass. On the drop in 120' on scrambled eggs. I think I might have been the only one out there to actually catch and keep something. Unfortunately it was not what I was hunting for and normally I would throw this guy back but I have been on a dry spell and the wife said "Don't come back unless you have lunch in your cooler". Left the water around 1030. Cleaned and cooked up this guy the way my wife likes it. Soak in Golden's Brown mustard then coat with flour and fry in a pan of olive oil till golden brown. YUM! I would have included a picture but for some reason I kept getting an "Invalid File" when uploading the pic. I sized it down to well within the required size . No biggie it's gone now anyway.

I did not fish today, but I did see about a 20 lb. yellowtail on shore at around 10 a.m.

Yum!! Never tried that but it does sound tasty for a quick fish fry. Thanks for the report.

Great report.
My buddy Robert rolled his yak coming in around 11:45 on 7/12 at the shores. Did not lose gear, just the 20# YT that broke off his leash.
