I am heading to Oceanside tomorrow. Planning on fishing the harbor and along the shore past the breakers, perhaps heading around the pier. I will probably drag a Mac around with fingers crossed for a YT.

Surf is going to be pretty big, so going to play it cautious.

Let's do it! Hit up O-side and get bait from the barge and head out?? What are you thinking?

Seiners were wrapping in front of carlsbad power plant yesterday. Might be a fairly close area to target from a yak.

I'm looking at going Sunday either O'side or Carlsbad depending on the swell. It looks to big right now for Carlsbad so it may have to be Oceanside.

Want to head SW and for who knows how long. That will depend on the wind.

I'm watching the forecast carefully.

Lot of boat traffic today, with a few good sets at the mouth of the harbor. The dredging seems to have eliminated the waves crashing in the mouth but still gets the blood pumping seeing a few goods sets start to materialize 100 yards in front of you. Water was warm 74-76 but really dirty at least it was about 2.5 miles out. I heard lots of chatter on the radio of fish everywhere mostly they were about 9 miles out or that's what my radio picked up... but still kayak range...I chased a huge pod of dolphins but didn't have any fish under them. Cruzed back in hit up the reefs out there for a nice 80ish pound black seabass. I would have loved to have gone 5-6 miles out but my curfew was noon. Wish I could join good luck out there guys!
