Scorpion Bay (Baja Sur)

Hi everyone, So my lovely girlfriend and a couple friends are heading down to the little town of San Juanico to for long weekend at Scorpion Bay Hotel. While I know it is a legendary surfing spot (none of us are big surfers) but we love adventure and the beach so why not. We are flying to Loreto and driving over from there.

My main question is has anyone visited Scorpion Bay or San Juanico?

General southern Baja fishing questions, how much should i expect to pay to charter a Panga for 1/2 day or so?

Should I try and bring some lures with me?

What kind of lures should I use for fishing off the beach?

Thanks in advance for your friendly advice!!

I brought a cobra surf down there many years ago and caught Spanish mackerel , and used the kayak for surfing. Definitely a fun place. Water temp could be cold though this time of year. check with the hotel Have fun.

Can't go wrong with Krocadiles from the beach. Anything shiny.

You definitely want to bring hard baits (floating and suspending) in sardine and mullet patterns. Also heavy irons if you fish from a panga for grouper.
