6/15 San O

A little persistent fog and marine layer that finally gave way to sun about noon. Surf looked like cake when we all pulled up, but seemed to build a bit and tighten up in the interval as the morning wore on.

There were 9 of us fishing and some big fish were lost and some legal halibut were caught. I had one on the kayak considering the need to measure and it flip flopped over the side. Caught on a Christmas tree Wham on the 4#

The guys with live bait did well. Dave out shined us all once again. congrats DP on the 33# big brown beastie! Thanks to Kiyo of Baytubers for hosting the monthly tournaments and the cool Diawa reel I won in the raffle. Great Brats and potluck as always. Great way to spend the day. I did not take many pix today. Missed the shot of this surfer couple doing the superman, but caught the second pose............69er?!?.

Landwhale had an impressive ride on my X 13 that I did not get a pic of, but T man's X 13 ride was caught.

Dave's big brown beaver.

Is T-man the one upside down?

Sorry I flaked out. Pop and I went to Dana intending to launch early. Pretty slow in general, with a couple handfuls of sadbass.

LP represent!

What a great Father's Day with good weather and waves, good food, good fun, good people, and got to see some halis too...way to call it DP, you definitely got the biggest 'but I've seen in a while...

Thanks for letting me try the X-13 Andy, surfs nicely. I likes.

Can't wait for the next one...

Surf was a little bit of a challenge early with the sizeable swell and high tide. "Safe" zones on the inside were hard to find and stay in!

Another shot of Dave's flatty

Fun tournament, great food & it turned out to be a nice day after the tide dropped and sun came out.
