Fish Finder Power Up Issue

My FF (Lowrance Elite 4X CHIRP) is behaving weird. I bought it new this last Spring and recently have ran into an issue.

During my last 3 trips, it has not powered on while launching. I trying powering it on while paddling out and around the water. Nada. Then, intermittently and for no reason, I'll try to power it on about an hour to an hour & half into the water and BAM - it powers up and works as expected. It's very odd & FRUSTRATING! I've checked the wires and voltage...all appears fine. Bad unit? Fuse? Any thoughts?

Thx!

intermittent usually means a connection, are you using dielectric grease on the plug and pins? Sometimes I have just cut out connectors (we use heat shrink butt connectors) and just replaced with a fresh connection has solved issues.

Thank you, Andy. I have not tried dielectric grease - will give this a try in addition to rechecking the connections. Thanks again!!!

A little corrosion is all it takes to disrupt the power on these small pins and receptacles

Make sure the connections at the fuse are good. Maybe replace the fuse.
