La Jolla Thursday 12/3 Newb Spectacular

Long time lurker, first time poster.

After a bunch of trips in SD and Mission bay I now feel fully confident enough to take on the swells and hit up LJ on Thursday. I will probably try to launch around 530-600. Will bring some gear to troll, Yoyo, and plastics. Looking for a beginners luck home guard or maybe some rock fish for some tacos. But the main objective is to get comfortable and learn the ropes.

If you are going out and want to point a newb in the right direction or just watch as I struggle my way through the surf hit me up!

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

Got to work, can't go. Good luck. Make sure you have leashes for everything you keep on deck especially your rods.

Thanks! Everything is secured down in case of the probable failure.

And I hope to see you out there nickc5! I will be the young guy in the papaya Hobie outback.

Good on you for getting out there. I'd love to join but unfortunately have work. As a recent/continuing newbie i'll say expect to screw up the launch maybe and definitely the landing, leash everything that you don't want to replace, including water bottles etc, and have fun. Oh, and sunglasses too. Leashed of course.

This work/job thing really gets in the way of fishing...

Good luck & tight lines!
