LJ Webcam Update

The amount of PMs and emails that have been coming in on this subject was... let's say rather impressive.
I see you guys had some good times kicking around the posts about it.

Well - we got an update!

This is how a webcam that was staring at the beach non-stop for 7 years looks like these days:

7 years is a long time.
I had much more hear (less on my back and belly), much fewer pounds...

This thing has ran it's course.
It has served us well.

Good news:
sometime next week, we're expecting the new webcam and the new web server to be up and running.

So - hangn' in there, please be patient for just a bit more.

Thank you all for your support, and offer to help - much appreciated.
There's no need - BWE has never been in money making business. These adds we're running are enough to cover webcam monthly internet connection bill, and can cover the replacement as well - as long as it happens every 7 years!

vday123@gmail.com - thanks for your nasty email.
Not sure what your problem is, but you sure seem to have one if a webcam is that important in your life that it being down warrants such a lame ass outburst. You're smart that you haven't used this email for registering here, or on a couple of other South CA fishing forums that I made an effort and asked mods to see if we can look you up. Your arse would not be coming anywhere near this forum. If email address rings the bell for anyone - please drop me a PM.

I'm just glad you're still here Adi after all these years. You have done so much for this community. (Can't thank you enough)

Me and you have spent so much time fishing under the La Jolla sun, we can relate to that old camera.

I look in the mirror these days and I look like that old camera.

Wow that thing looks like Johnny # 5 from Short Circuit 2.

Its a shame that some people cant be more grateful for a service that costs them nothing. Thank you for the web cam!

Gabe-man...when you two stop hugging and kissing...

In fact, if you're so lovey dovey with this Adi guy, I'm thinking you have the same "butt hole" gps numbers? I WANT THEM. Jim

Thanks guys for your kind words!
All of us who help make BWE run greatly appreciate it!

And very important - we can not thank enough to La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club folks for letting us have the BWE webcam on their property. We all need to remember that when pulling up on the sand at 4 AM - no, it is totally not cool to blast loud music, and wake up their guests. Just don't do it.

Another recent addition that LJBTC put out - make sure you bookmark their own webcam, use it while ours is down!

no video

well, I'm glad I looked here, it answers my question as to why I'm getting a black screen with the words no video at the bottom. I'm new to kayaking and kayak fishing but not new to fishing, been fishing for over 60 years. I want to come to La Jolla to fish but I can see I'm going to need a ton of help. How do I get started. I live in Yucaipa, CA so not too far away but I think it would be best to start out with a mentor. I'm reading the threads about setting up bait tanks and catching bait but tackle is a question for me, is my striper tackle adequate for fishing the kelp beds, it's handled some pretty big stripers. Do I need an anchor? I would tell you about my yak but I don't want to get laughed at too soon in the game. Anyway, thanks for any help in advance.
