Pumped.

Figured I'd share my stoke with you guys.

Been putting in time trying for a Bluefin and it paid off last week. Paddled out to make bait and as usual lately, it wasn't easy. One day it's quick; Next day its tough. Found a couple Spanish and said screw it and headed out. Met up with a dude that was heading in and he hooked it up with a couple killer Greenies. Mad stoked and a big thank you! I love the fact there are still good cool people out there.

Paddled out to find garbage conditions. dirty water, tons of debris and not very good sign of life. After getting dogged and losing 2 baits, I decided to paddle out in search of cleaner water. Found a break from 67-70.8 and instantly found bait, birds and a little better conditions. Headed North West and after covering a TON of water I decided to switch out baits. Clicked the reel in gear, took the clicker off and started the wind in.

7 cranks in and I'M BIT!!! Straight nutty. Starts off feeling like Yellow but then it starts diggin' and on for a sleigh ride!. I'm going left, right, backwards all the while kicking the crap out of me. The fish sounded and instantly I knew its TUNA. Fought the thing up 3 times and finally get it to gaff. After what seemed like 5 minutes of trying to get a shot; I pinned it.

In my lap, shaking, it finally sunk in that I FINALLY stuck a Tuna less than 5 off the beach in the yak. SO SICK! Paddled in like a stud, or at least I felt that way

Nice going and good meeting you out there and watching you put the wood to that thing.. As soon as I saw deep color I knew for sure that thing was a BFT!!

Make bait next time where we spoke of.. Always a sure thing..

Atta boy!!!

I was the guy who hooked up the elusive greenies on my way in. Stoked they were put to good use!! I launched 530 flying blind. No ff that trip due to some bad wire connections. Trolled around a while using just my spidey senses. No birds, bait, or fish seen. Didn't have all day so I called it a day and glad I could save u some time and fill ur tank up. So did he take one of the Spanish or the greenie? congrats on the BFT

Thanks a bunch guys. Just the opportunity to get bit was absolutely killer let alone get it on the game clip. Fished an overnight on Sunday and wrecked mixed Bluefin and Yellowfin 5 miles off Carlsbad, launched Monday and stuck the Yellows, came back out and nailed the Bluefin. Killer week. and crazy year!

Hell yeah buddy. Thanks again dude. After losing 2 greenies to the dogs, I put a Spanish on to get me out of the first zone without losing precious cargo. Paddle out and when I went to switch it up; I got chewed.
