Launching at DP
You can launch from the launch ramp for a $10.00 fee which included parking your car inside the launch area.
Or Launch for free at Baby Beach. It a little bit longer paddle to the open water, but it's free. Get there early to get parking |

Just pay the 10$. You back up to the ramp, kayak goes straight into the water and your less then a 5 minute paddle to the bait barge/ harbor mouth. I wouldn't launch at baby beach unless I was just fishing the docks with plastics.

or Its your choice pick the second and I'm sure you'll regret not paying the $10 on your way back. I believe you need exact change at the gate or you'll be

Might pay to launch since my buddy is fairly new to kayaking. I'll be in my PA14 and my buddy will be in my Revo13. Hope to see you out there.

Yep, and the paddle back against the wind after a day fishing can suck big time. Even on my tight budget it's worth paying the $10. Besides, I look at that time saved as extra time on the water fishing, not paddling.

hey if you have money to blow by all means pay to launch.. a little exercise never hurt anyone though and that is part of being a kayak-er..
I look at it as 8 trips a month is $80 thats 2 tanks of gas to get me somewhere to go fishing... crap if i had that $80 i could be down helping with heros on the water tomorrow.. come say hi again im in the orange slayer with a light blue shirt... i will be heading to the headlands

I've launched from Baby Beach many times and it's fine if you have extra time. It's about 3/4 mile to the harbor mouth. Adding 1.5 miles to your day isn't too bad unless you're heading back in the afternoon against the wind when it can take 45 minutes of non stop cardio just to get up the channel. I've found the convenience and time saving of the launch ramp worth the $10.

I'm like 2 for 4 on getting invited to bbqs after a baby beach goer has wondered at my new age canoe and my flounder. Despite this good fortune, I mostly launch from the ramp.
