Thanks Makobob, Amish Ed, Bert Vega and Blitzburgh.
I really want to explore some new baja destinations such as Punta Abreojos or Mag Bay. |

Thanks Kobra, Fly fishing Yakr, ful-rac, bubblehide.
Time flies so fast. Hard to believe 30 years ago I was just 29. I am going to treat myself to some new fishing gear. Shhhhhhh new spinning gear to toss irons. I am an east coast guy and 99% of guys use spinners for everything but live bait applications. Actually, my reel guy Glenn Pamaran a shimano technician says that kayakers should use spinning gear because it resists the abuse better than conventional. he also said that on a shimano employee trip that he had a bunch of guys use shimano baitrunners with terez rods and brought in tuna with ease. He was shocked but now convinced that spinners do have the guts to handle tough fish. But what the heck, in florida they catch tarpon every day with spinners so they do have a place for larger game fish. I still like using conventional gear and especially low profile reels for the bay, calico and the lakes. Spinning gear has gotten better over the years so I am going to get a rod for my Penn Spinfisher V. Besides the fact that I need to use left handed reels.
