I was out a couple of nights ago catching my years supply of frozen squid, I didn't have a light big enough to show this activity though.
Great shot. And to think... they have been pulling huge amounts of squid out (hundreds of tons), nightly, for two weeks, and it still looks like this! I just hope that the squid they are catching has had a chance to spawn, so we can see this again in the future years! |

What was really cool about it was that we were able to literally hand pick
the bait that we wanted. Leave the little ones and find some nice fatties to tempt the game fish... |

WOW! Someone for sure is going to get a 70# WSB this year! Very cool picture Josh. No wonder why nobody is catching fish.

We got it all out there at the La Jolla video show, whales, mola-mola, sharks, fish, seals (yeah, those bastards) and now squidsss.
Very bitchin' photo, nice post. Surreal, we knew they were squid, but we had to do a double-take to make sure they weren't kelp. Yah, we be educated.

cool photo Paul. Now we need the light boats to split, the squid to take off, the macs to thin out and all the yellows and whites picking those lazy squirts off need to get hungry and in a bit closer, say the point, and start looking to eat dark meat or rapala metal all under the veil of greylight so the stink boaters don't f up the bite.

Paul, photo of the year!
Josh, that is kick ass report. THat is LJ history in the making, right there. 2008 is gonna be a great year, I call the best ever. Matt, that fish is called the Mother of MOAL. My crystal ball says I'll catch it soon. It's not about the time on the water. It's all about the attitude.
