I had to pay the ranger $5 just to get into Irvine Park. Irvine Lake is really small but has a nice boat house. Didn't look like the pictures? The zoo at Irvine Lake is really neat though and worth the price of admission. Lots and lots of different fuzzy and fluffy with some feathered animals & birds. Speaking of animals, on our way back we stopped to use the rest room at this place called Cooks. Anyone here over been to Cooks Corner? That place is crazy! And everyone rides motor bikes and has tattoos. Nice people but most are scarry. i'll save my story for the camp fire. Its funny. Mr T-Rex I have a tent now (with a zipper door that can lock) If you really want you can camp with me. Or no?. Peace Last edited by booger; 01-12-2015 at 08:29 PM. |

I used to party at a biker bar (Hells Angels) a few decades back. I also grew up across the street from a couple Hells Angels; nicest guys in the world. |

Cooks Corner was our clubhouse for 20+ years. Rarely missed a Wednesday night during that time. Old man Tony the bartender RIP used to tell all the pretty girls to come on Wednesday nights. The place has lost its edge and is now full of guys with shiney new boots/jackets that don't ride when it gets cold or dark out. Heaven forbid their bikes get dirty if it is sprinkling. Look for my ol' FLH with license frame that reads So. Cal. Baggers From Hell
Sounds like you made Irvine Park. Can't see how you missed Irvine Lake as you had to drive right past it on the way to Cooks. Sounds a little fishy to me. |

Irvine Lake UPDATE!!!
Hey guys just just want to remind you that if you can't make the Irvine trip please let me know ASAP! So we can makes plans ahead of time!!!!
Just called the lake this afternoon and I asked about reservations, the lake staff said they are not necessary at this time. The weather outlook for the trip looks good so far, highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s winds are forecast to be light. Campfires are OK at the moment, the weather just has to cooperate, and it looks like it will. We are going to break you guys up into groups of 5, within the group you should pick a point man and have him be responsible for camping fees. At $25 bucks for each night it will cost each person $5 a night, $10 for 2 nights. Everyone should be responsible for their own fishing fees. Regular admission: $24 a day Senior admission: $21 a day Active military with ID: $19 a day FOOD!!! Each person or group should, be responsible for their own breakfast and lunch and drinks. We will do a potluck for dinner on Friday night and Saturday night, so make sure you bring something good....and something good is not macaroni salad or potato salad!!!! To make it easy, each group should be responsible for bringing and or making a dish for the potluck....unless you have something special you want to provide for the guys .....like those JOE JOST eggs!!!! Again if you are planning on coming please chime in on this thread (BILL!). Otherwise we will not expect you! I hope you guys are as excited as we are about this Irvine trip, It's gonna be fun! Hopefully we will finally get to meet some of you guys that we haven't had the chance to meet yet. Get ready to be in the next Sewer video guys, it's gonna be fun, learn from JIM be a star!!! I will be updating you guys all the way up until the trip so make sure you check your PMs or this thread. Thanks Tony. (Team Sewer Management)

Irvine campout
I am planning on bringing my huge ass outfitters tent (I like comfort) with a wood burning stove (I like comfort, and heat). If anyone needs a place to crash, I might have a tad bit of room; but be aware, I snore like a freight train (you have been warned), so you might want to bring some ear plugs if you plan on snoozing in my tent. Warning, I will be armed, so you won't get away with any funny business.
I'm planning on make a thai seafood soup for the potluck. I will also be bringing some wild pork for the BBQ, who's bringing the BBQ? |
