Trip to the Jewel
Thinkin of attempting the jewel. I haven't fished there in years so I'm thinkin of trying again. Problems is I'm old pitiful and have a new PA that I don't know how to get in and out of it. Anyway just picked up a new jig stick so I gotta give it a try. Could anyone tell me how the surf has been lately. I have never figured out how to load the web cam. Also, is it time for surface irons now? I was hoping so. anyway a little help if you can. Thanks, Rich the beardedguy. |

I was out there the other day. Launched at about 8 and the surf wasn't too bad, just a little slapper to the chest but nothing big enough to worry about. I came in for a landing at about noon or 1 and the waves still weren't anything too big but they do catch you by suprise if you're not watching your back. Had to go retrieve one of my rods in the water.

Thanks guys,
I need to get a couple of rod leash's than I'll be ready to go. I was only dumped once landing. It was about 7 years ago in my first kayak. A Cobra fish n dive I had a heart attack 2 weeks prior to fishing and had a blood clot blocking the flow to my legs. At the time I didn't know about it. I had made it into shore and the beach but I couldn't stand up cuz both legs were asleep. The surf drug me back out and flipped me. Fortunetly for me Mat Moyer was there and fished me and all my stuff out of the water. Well hope to be heading out soon. Hope to see ya'll out there. Thanks again. |
