Yep.......that is a good boat.

I see you have the sail rudder, do you have turbo fins?

If you have the money get rid of that seat and upgrade to a high back seat, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. While you're at it I would also recommend you get rid of the stock hatch and upgrade to the rectangular hatch.

one last thing.................................if that is a scupper cart get rid of it and get yourself a wheelez cart, the one with the big wheels. Save the wheels that you have now and use them on your wheelez frame when you do not need to drag your kayak across sand.

I installed one on my Outback. I'm 5'10" and weigh 230lbs, I was able to sit and open the hatch with no issues. I know Andy at OEX has them in stock and installs them for a few bucks.

Is it the same hatch that comes in the PA? like how it holds the 2 boxes

X2 on the rectangle hatch.. Just installed one on my outback 2 months ago thanks to a little help from Jurluivil and you tube..

Yes its the hatch with the 2 boxes or you can get the rectangle tub. I opted for the tub...

Easy to get into. Best upgrade by far...

DIY Rectangle Hatch Upgrade

Well I finally did it, decided to replace the round hatch in my 2013 Outback. Bought the rectangle hatch , seal, and opted for the bucket version.

Removed the round hatch and used the backing plate from the new hatch as a template for cutting purposes.

Used a sharpie for the outline and a Jig saw for cutting the plastic. Cuts like butter..

A little sand paper to knock down the rough edges and it was ready to layout the holes for the lid and backing plate. Used the top of hatch to mark and drill out the holes for the screws.

One final look at everything and it was ready to install.
Lined up the backing plate, the gasket, and the lid and screwed them together.

Really make sure you have the placement correct before cutting and the rest is downhill from there.. Really a simple install....

Thanks to George and Andy for the tips, and pics on how to install. Really helped.

Nice ride indeed. Only thing missing is the rods, water, and a fish.

Think I just saw your car earlier this morning following another SUV with a yak on it. You have dodger license plate frames? Good luck out there and congrats on the yak. I'm stuck out at work .
