What is the best bait for lingcod
Fished in san simeon last 3 weeks . 6/3 /14 I fish a 12 oz. Jig moving with my hobie kayak in the open spots in the kelp I catch 28 Inc. lingcod and 6 sort lingcod. 6/11 /14 i bring 4 mackerel and a 1 pond sinker to move the mackerel over the bottom And catch28 Inc. ,32 Inc. (15 pound had small lingcod in in his belle) and release a legal lingcod 6/18/14ifished 2 hoursto windy and catch 28 Inc. lingcod on mackerel |

Took me a couple read throughs to understand it all, but congrats on the Ling success! Definitely one of my favorites to target but I'm not able to catch them back to back like you did.

Awesome catch......and I think you meant to list those as May dates right? Unless you really are a time traveler
P.S. I've always wanted to try using octopus for ling. find them all the time in their bellies and you can buy them at any Asian market. |

I haven't caught too many lings, but the few I have caught made me get Ding-a-ling Fever (insert joke here).

Fished Cambria 2 weeks ago, 2 of us got limits of lings and some bigger rock fish in about 3 hours before the winds pushed us in. Good thing I went with a local the fog was thick! Mega baits with a squid strip of squid, Ling slayers, Iron with a single hook and a grub, pretty much anything making noise and commotion. Nothing like fish tacos from a still breathing AquaLing!
