good day rockfishing, LJ

That was the plan anyway...find some rockfish and maybe a ling. Had the place to myself. I noticed some birds working an area off in the distance so I fly-lined a mac just in case...caught both within about 10 minutes of each other. They went 29 and 25 pounds

Very Nice! I'm going to pound some rock piles tomorrow.

One thing to keep in mind, the sec you put a ground fish in you boat, you are then limited to only one rod with up two hooks.

Thanks for the heads up...I didn't know that. The ling was caught last so I was ok anyway.

Admittedly, both the launch and the landing were a little sketchy. I usually stow my rods when I land and couldn't today cause of the fish on board...plus my rudder broke which made it interesting. I got a little wet but fortunately thats all

Are those johnny bass or yellowtail rockfish?

I am going to have to give this flyline rockfishing technique of yours a try!!

Nice pair of jacks you got there! Congrats!

Wow, nice job.

Me thinks it's going to be an epic year.

Hint's of El Nino in the news.

I think I may be going "rock fishing" soon ........

you have no idea how much envy I'm feeling... especially since I tried my first launch out of LJ last week.... guess it's time to try "rockfishing" again soon!

Way to go, sweet pair of jacks!
