you can get a used canoe Trailer

Go bigger and tow a PA 14...buy a canoe trailer and upgrade it to hold your kayak,,, your car can tow 300 lbs no problem and you don't have to lift it on top and get sand and salt water on your car...

That's a bit over 140 lbs of kayak on as small of a car as there is and it drives pretty well.

I have a "Big Stack" between the two kayaks. They are more secure than they look, bit it is pushing the limits.

What is holding the PA to the roof rack? It can't be just the bow/stern lines, can it? I was always under the impression the bow/stern lines should only be firm and not cinched.

Here is how I get my PA around.
