Channel Island Sport fishing does A LOT with Fish For Food, where they donate the days catch to the local food banks. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of those events. 3500 San Dabs will feed a lot of hungry people

I'm doing the math and it comes out to an average of 166 fish per person. When you take into account the length of the trip and the amount of time spent fishing, let's say a solid 4 hours spent fishing if they moved a couple times to some different spots, and you end up with 42 fish per hour, or 1 fish every 85 seconds. Now that's only an average so I'm sure some caught more than that and some less than that, plus I'm assuming they maybe moved a couple spots. I'm not sure I could fish and be interested enough to catch 166 dabs, plus I'm sure it'd have to be more considering there's a lot of people on the boat for the first time and they are inexperienced and require more attention to stay fishing or keep their gear in working order. So I think I'd have to be one of the anglers to catch more than 166 to lift the average....ugh, a lot of work. Am I missing something here or is it just me who wouldn't want to catch that many dabs?! No to mention that's a lot of stress on gear cranking it that much and one hell of a workout.
